EyeTech Digital Systems, has partnered with Quantum Rehab to bring eye controlled wheel chairs to individuals who are unable to use hand controls. EyeTech’s eye tracking technology mounts directly to a tablet PC and allows the user to control the entire computer using eye movements. The system then mounts to the wheelchair. An eye control driving app gives the user the ability to drive hands-free. The driving controls are overlaid on the scene camera. Simply looking at the driving controls activates them to control the basic directions and movements of the chair.

Hello can you give me some information about your eyegaze drive please? Liam
Are the units available for retail? Do they work with any power chair? I live in Canada and have ALS. Regards Troy
Hi Troy,
You should contact Pride Canada

Telephone/Téléphone: 888-570-1113

They supply Quantum Rehab power wheelchairs which is the power wheelchair in the video.
How can one find out about this, and where it is available at and how to get this technology on a power chair?
Thanks
Hi John,
They have been a long time developing this product and finally, it will be released to the market in Q1/early Q2 of this year.
You can find more information directly from the eye gaze company Eyetech digital systems or from kjackson@eyetechds.com
Regards,
Sean.
US market too?
Hi Ken, EyeTech (eye gaze system) is a US company, although they have not pursued to have a specific product for power wheelchair control. However, others are using Eyetech’s eye gaze systems to control power wheelchairs. You might be interested in Ability Drive which is currently available in the US. Another interesting project is EyeDrivematic
Hi is this system available in the uk
Do you have an agent in Australia and NZ?
Cheers
Johnny
Does this system work with Invacare mark 6 electronics?
Hi Robert,
I don’t think it is compatible with Invacare chairs at the moment. It works on Permobil and Quantum QLogic wheelchairs. However, maybe contact the manufacturer/supplier below yourself to see what they have planned.
